Help with drawing lines straight

I have been trying without success to make a calendar in Excel. My problem...having the lines I draw be straight. I go to Draw- choose Line and pull the mouse to where I want the line to be, but it is never straight- either vertically or horizontally. I am a very new user of Excel and have very basic knowledge. Hope someone can help.

Why don't you just resize the cells and outline them using borders?

Start to draw your line as normal and while drawing hold the Shift key.

This will constrain the line to 15 degree increments making it very easy to draw perfect horizontal of vertical straight lines.

Thanks JAF and Rick. I used both your ideas and have completed my calendar and will print it out this morning.....thanks for the quick response!
