hi,
Whenever i'm opening an excel file,i can see funcres.xla is opening..is it a virus and if is,how harmful is it..Also i like to know about .xla file...

Funcres is not a virus. It is the add-in file (*.xla) Analysis Toolpak so you've got no worries.
