footnotes in excel

simple question: how do I insert footnotes in excel. and another: how do I insert symbols like 'greater than or equal to'?

go to view
select header/footer
similar to Word
to insert "<" ">""+"
just type them in the cell
if you want to insert symbols or characters not on the keyboard, go to:
programs
accessories
program tools
character map
select character and copy
paste it in excel
