"flip" the table--convert rows to columns and vice versa

Is there any easy way to "flip" or "tilt" a table so that the row values
become columns and the columns rows?

select table
Choose "Edit, Copy"
Select cell to serve as upper left corner of revised table.
Choose "Edit, Paste Special, All & Transpose"

That's great when the table contains data. How do I do the same when it also contains relative reference formulae and keep the links intact?
