FIX in bottom right hand corner

The word FIX has popped up in the bottom right hand corner to the right on the NUM. What is it and how do I get rid of it. I think it is responsible for automatically putting in decimal places when I don't want them. Thanks for any help on this.

Using the Tools | Options... menu command uncheck
"Fixed decimal" on the Edit tab.
