If the worksheet contains links, you can see the source file(s) by selecting "Edit, Links" from the main menu. I don't see a way from the reulting dialogue box to know which cells contain the links, but you could then select your entire worksheet and hit Ctrl and F simultaneously and use the resulting "Find what?" box to locate the links to the files shown as sources.
Maybe there's an easier way, but this should do the trick.

External links can be maddening. Microsoft offers a free tool to find and delete them. Just yesterday in the Tip of the Day section, I posted a review of a German guru's program to remove links. Check the October 16 & 17th postings at http://www.mrexcel.com/weblog/weblog.shtml.
Is just me, or are other people not able to access this link (either from here or the home page?)
By the way Mr. Excel, I love the tip of the day idea.
Its my browser, false alarm.
Thanks the addin find links in the workbook but all of them were link that I know about, the message said this workbook contains external data, is this the same as a link? Also thanks for the tip of the day section.
