File size with inserted .jpg files

I have an application where I need to insert a .jpg file into an Excel worksheet. The problem is that it after saving, the file size balloons. It appears that Excel is saving the picture in some other non-compressed format. Is there any way to keep it compressed? I would rather not use a hyperlink sort of setup. I am using Excel 2000 with Windows 2000.

Andy, the quickest way to get answers to your questions is to first search the message board on key words to see if you find anything similar. In this case, I searched on the keyword: jpg
