File Protected, Want to Unprotect

I had a power outage while the file was open. When I tried to open the file after the outage I get a message that the file is protected and can only be opened as "read only". When I go to Tools it does not give me the opportunity to switch to Unprotect. It only shows the Protect.

Try doing a SAVE AS and name the "read-only" file a different name. then close down and read in the newly named file.

That works but now how do I delete the old file. I get the same protect type message when I try to delete.
