Excel Problem

I have a user who occasionally reports the following problem. Her Horizontal scroll bar in Excel starts flashing (blinking). She is an experienced user, I really hesitate to say that it is a user problem. This occurs at different times of the day, in different workbooks. She states that it does not affect anything she is working on, it just blinks. I have tried and tried but I cannot find a reason. Has anyone ever seen this happen?

Hi Ann

I have never heard this before, perhaps she has a nervous eye twitch she is unaware of :O) Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I would be interested to find the reason for this myself. Try starting Excel with these Switches.

Go to Start>Run and type in Excel /o

and/or Excel /regedit

It is a long shot but is worth a try.

BTW notice the blank before the Switch.

Good Luck

Thanks - I will give it a try but this is an intermittent problem. She says it doesn't even happen once a week.

I got this response from another board. - "I've seen something like your description in other office apps - powerpoint in particular. I believe it was connected to having a mouse with a wheel. It may be worth searching the other forums? FYI, my way of solving the problem was to change jobs and hence PC setup/ini files/registry settings or whatever was causing it - This seemed to work, if a bit drastic! Sorry I can't be of more help." The person I am working with does have a mouse with a wheel. Does anyone have any more ideas?
