Excel Hangups

Excel sometimes hangs up/crashes ("This program has performed an illegal operation..." message) when I use the "Goal Seek" add-in function. In other cases, the cursor sometimes "sticks" and "selects" all cells over which the cursor passes and will not break loose from the selection it is tracing as I move it around the worksheet.

What it sounds like is some software problems. Not in how excel was made, but in how it was installed. Try removing the add-in then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work you'll have to reinstall excel itself. You won't lose any workbooks doing this, just customizations done to excel like custom toolbars, etc.
