Excel 97 to 2000 compatabilty

Hi Everyone

The answer is more than likely somewhere in the list but I will ask it again.

Are excel 97 files compatiable with Excel 2000 files and vicea versea. I am looking at upgrading to Excel 2000 but want to be sure that I can still open and use my 97 files.

Fear not. Microsoft is still good at providing backwards compatibility services with most all of its software (I can't think of any that aren't, but "always" and "never" are are powerful words that are rarely true in most context...).

Even if you were moving files from 2000 to 97, you have the option to save the files using multiple formats (4.0, 5.0, 95, 97, 2000, etc).
