Excel 97 display settings

Mr. Excel-
In Excel 97, when I set the zoom and display options (ie.-50%, gridlines off, freeze panes)and then save the workbook, I find that my changes are not saved. The settings revert. How can I avoid this?

Hi Brian

Excel should retain these settings for a particular workbook once saved. However this will not be the case for a new workbook. To do this you will need to save as a template.
