eliminating duplicate data

I have a address file with names and addresses in an Excel format... there are about 4000 lines of data with multiple duplicates... is there a way to search and remove duplicates in the address column... or any column for that matter...

Sure -- check out Filter/Advanced filter/ Unique records only option.
