Does DisplayAlerts disable the Macro Virus Protection box that opens
when you open a sheet? If not, does anything?

Set security to LOW (Excel 2000 and up) or don't check for macros (Excel 97).

I STRONGLY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS, but, that's the solution.

A very VERY VERY common Q
However i agree with Juan, we have both said this amny times, but remember for the anoyance of clicking OK or Open its not to hard to suffer, i concur with Juan Pablo G. totally but add this, Excel Virus are macros which i have not seen or been told of any for a long time, all are by worms and of cause Email attachments, but nowadays they are scripts in the HARDCORE of the scripts that Outlook carry to work, so i feel the threat if LOW, however this is my policy.

Also i never open ANY email im not expecting or any attachments unless i requested it, i delete them, Thisis hostile action but as late BadTransB i was sent from the guy next to me as no definations were written, they wore 5 hours late, but the emails was MP3 attachment of SCR file??? so i pressed DELETE this is the best security.

No documents are that important and a phone call can confirm the OK in all emails or sent text email to say why the doc was send.

Conclusion.... i and i advise to put up with it.

Goner was rubbish and no damage but it did cause agro, i was un effected as i turned of my email for a day and updated but still no bad files.

As i write scripts i say protection form all files is best. Sorry to go on, but i truly HATE virus programmers, think what they could do if they turned those skills to prober good programming...
