Deleting Multiple Windows

I know there has to be an easy solution to this somewhere yet I've be unable to locate it.

When I was in a workbook, I mistakenly clicked the 'New Window' command under the 'Window' drop down menu. Now I cannot figure out how to remove the second copy of the window without damaging the original.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Just use the close button as you would to close the file. The file won't close but the second window will.

Just select the second copy and close it. You are just looking at two views of the same workbook. Anything you do in one view affects the other view, since it's the same workbook.

That's the way that I remember solving this problem before, but when I do that the whole file closes rather than just one window. When I reopen the file, both windows are there again. I've tried several different ways to close the window using 'Close' commands, but none are working as I would expect them to.

Thanks for your help.

Open the workbook, select the second version, then close the second version by clicking on the upper right X (when you move your mouse over the X, it should sat "Close Window"). The save and close the workbook.
