Date and Time

I have some cells formatted as date and some as time (1/1/01 10:30 AM) when I put the date and time in yesterday, Jan. 1, by typing CTRL+SHIFT+; (semi-colon) I thought it would show up as 1/1/01 10:30 AM but it showed up as 1/0/00 10:30AM. I can enter the date by typing CTRL+; and it shows up right. Any ideas as to what is happening? Thanks for your help. Paul

CTRL+SHIFT+; is the shortcut for entering the time only. If entered into a date formated cell you do get 1/0/00.
