CSV File Format

Posted by Simon McArdle on May 10, 2001 4:24 AM

Hi,

Can anybody tell me why when I open a csv file that has this format: 23524,erwtr3t
the data all appears in column A in excel 97. I thought the data should be in A and B because of the comma.

Any Ideas!

Thanks
Simon

You could open the file, highlight column A and use text to column
After text to columns, hit next, change the delimiter to comma, hit next and finally finish.
You could then save it as an .xls file if you wish.
