Copying Subtotals

I have a loooooong list of data that I have sorted and subtotaled, then contracted so it only shows the totals and the essential information (using the number two button on the left hand side of the screen). How do I make a pivot table and/or graph using ONLY the subtotal information, not the entire set of data. I have tried copying and pasting only the data I want, but it keeps giving me the ENTIRE set. I don't know what to do, next to copying and pasting each individual cell onto a separate worksheet. However, there are still hundreds of cells and this would take a very long time. Help, please!!

How about if you highlight your collapsed list, hit control G, special visable cells only and then copy and paste it?
