Copy a cell intake

How do I copy a cell from one to the next, or even more importantly from one sheet to the next, without Excel trying to be clever and adding onto row numbers/column numbers/ sheet names! etc.

There are a number of ways. Here's one :-
Highlight the formula in the formula bar
Copy
Press the down arrow
Select the destination cell
Paste

I tried it and I can follow you upto the 'Press the down arrow' Which arrow do you speak of sir. I tried various including the cursor down arrow, and still to no joy, I feel you speak in forked tongue sir,

On your keyboard you have a key with an arrow on it that points downwards (or, if you like, points towards you).

If you wish to copy a formula exactly as it is, first delete the = sign and reinsert it after you've pasted.
