Copy a cell intake

How do I copy a cell from one to the next, or even more importantly from one sheet to the next, without Excel trying to be clever and adding onto row numbers/column numbers/ sheet names! etc.

See Help re absolute and relative referencing. You need to use the $ sign before the column and row (eg A1 becomes $A$1). Whichever part is preceded by $ (column, row or both) remains fixed when you scroll.
