Conditional Formatting

I wish to format cells in a sheet in excel according to the formatting in another sheet within the same file, i.e. colour in / highlight cells in one sheet the same as in another sheet but automatically and without disturbing anything else in the sheet. Sorry if the question is difficult to understand but it's very difficult to explain.
