Capitalization

Is there any way to stop Excel from making any letter after a period a capital?

For example, I want to enter: Accel. cable
it always changes it to: Accel.Cable
and unless I leave the cell then go back and change it, it will keep changing it to uppercase.

I have auto-complete turned off (simply because it annoyed me to no end), but I can't seem to find anything about this.

Any suggestions?
