Can I resize my Excel spread sheet?

The standard Excel spread sheet is 256 cells wide by 64,000 deep.

Is there a way to reconfigure a spread sheet to make it wider (at the expense of depth if necessary).
For example I would like to change my spread sheet to have
1024 cells in width by 16,000 cells in depth.

Will graphs handle the resized data?

You can't do this in Excel. (256 Col x 65536 rows IS STANDARD)

Re: Try a Work around

Hi,

Have you tried Pasting your data and transposing it. A feature within the Edit\Paste\Special menu path.

This swaps all the columns for rows, I admit this does not solve your the problem if you are retrieving a wider data from an external source, but if it is your data manipulation that is causing the shortfall this will be a viable solution.

Edit\Paste Special\Transpose

Please note formulas have to be entered very carefully as transpose does funny things with them
unless you know what you are doing(you need to do Tying of certain cells (ie $a3) it may be better to Paste Special\Values & Transpose together.

Hope this helps.
