Can I get more colours?

In excel 97, I'm only offered a limited palate of colours for my cell background. Can I get at a custom colour palate like Word? I need some more pale colours - those dark ones don't print well

Hi Chris,

Yes, you can customize the color palate via the Excel Tools->Options->Color tab. Select the color you want to modify, then the Modify button. If at this point you really want lots of control of the color setting, select the Custom tab on the Colors dialog and use the sliders.
