Books

Dave, you gave me some help this weekend that really did help me out. I live in Mexico and seldom return to the states. Often we have people that go back up there and I would like one of them to pick me up a book that will tell me about instructions I can use in Excel macros and how to use them. Could you reccomend such a book? I must be discriptive with whoever gets it for me as they will probably be someone that knows nothing of computers. I am retired and really want to learn this stuff. Its fun. Thanks in advance for your help and the help last weekend. Larry

Hi Larry

Could you jog my memory in what I helped you with. I must about 5 direct e-mails a day requesting help.

If you go to my web site and click the link "Great Links" you will see a list of links that are all about Excel and Excel VBA books. I will go there now and come back with the names of what I think are good ones.

OK, under the link: ComputerBooks.com top ten

two of the best in my opinion are:

Microsoft Excel 2000 Power Programming with VBA

AND

Excel 2000 VBA Programmer's Reference

The second one is a bit more advanced, but well written and is a very handy reference book.

If you are intrested my company does remote Excel VBA training. Just drop me an e-mail and I can send you all the information.

Dave;

Thanks for the infor on the books. To refresh your memory, I needed to know how to test a cell for its contence in a macro. You responded within an hour and solved my problem. I would be interested in your companies on line Excel VBA training, however, living on a pension here in Mexico, I am on a very limited budget and do not know if I could afford it. But, if you would forward me the info on it, I will check it out. I will send you an e-mail to that effect. Thanks again. PS. I have also learned a lot just reading questions and responses here on your page. Great page......... Larry
