AUTO-OPEN

When Excel opens it runs a Macro to add an unwanted toolbar from within "TbRun97 Project" shown in the Macro Editor but when I try to edit this in Macro editor it asks for a password. Can anyone help??

The project is protected. There are two ways to be able to edit the macro :-

1) Find out who wrote it and ask them what the password is.

2) Use a password cracker to unprotect the file e.g. www.lostpassword.com but it costs.

Daniel.

It transpires that Scansoft Textbridge Classic Scanner installation put it there but failed to remove it on UN-install. I have tried their website but the support e-mail page seems corrupt. Still trying though.

Are you trying to delete it ? look for any *.xla files on your hard drive and locate it. Then just delete it ! or move it, or do something to it, to keep it from running.

I've sussed it. There was an TbRun97.xls file in c:\windows\application data\microsoft\excel\Xlstart folder. I deleted it and its done.
Thanks all.
