I usually just open the .gif using a web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape etc), right-click on the gif and then simply paste it into Excel.
There is no doubt a "proper" way to do this, but I'm pretty lazy and if it works I don't change it.
If it works don't knock it :-) ....BUT you can always
just Insert > Picture > from file
I think JP wants to insert the animated giff
so that it will show animation.....unfortunately
it won't show in excel...you need a animated gif control (ocx or dll)....unless you do this yourself.
