Wages calculation

i need to calculate the hour worked between two times starting for example at 5.30 pm on Monday and ending on 12.30 am on tuesday morning.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

To do this you have to bear in mind that hours
in excel are worked on a 24 hr period/clock
so working from one day to the next would
have to take this into consid. ie next days
time = + 1 or 24/24
All times entered as say 5:00pm = 17/24 or .70833
in decimal (our language)12:30am = 1/48 or .02083
so you would have to set up your formula to take this
into account eg (1+.02083) - .70833 = .3125 = 8.5
ie 8.5 hours worked. or 8.5/24
