looking up (as with vlookup) and selecting multiple rows

I have a number of spreadsheets that need to look up and copy rows of data in another spreadsheet by comparing a number in cell (say) A1. If I used vlookup I guess only the first row of data that mathces the criteria would be reported plus I never know from one day to the next how many rows will match the criteria.
Is there some code that could handle such a tas?

Advanced AutoFilter could be used.
