look up values?

Hello,

Is there a function in Excel, like sumif, that would get information in row or column when specific criteria comes up.

For Example:

Any time apple or 333 comes up in column A. I would like to get information from rows to the left or right of criteria.

Look at VLOOKUP worksheet function. Also, INDEX/MATCH combinations.
