Okay so here is the problem if I have col A with the number 5 in it I want a formula in the next col. that states if col a is greater than 6 input a 1 if it is less than 1 put in a 0.... can any one help please??

You could use
=IF(A1>6,1,0) or simply =(A1>6)+0
