I have the day date on the 1st spreadsheet in a workbook and am trying to lookup the correct monthly goal on the 2nd spreadsheet and return a value 2 rows down. How do I set up a formula that recognizes which month that day is in. They are both in mm/dd/yy format(i.e. Sep 02 is 09/01/02). Please respond to jgeller@songbirdhearing.com if possible.

What is in sheet 2: month names in one column and some values in another next to it or what?

Still unsure about the layout of your data.
Would you do the following:
activate an empty cell in sheet2, type =, select 8 rows of data, go the Formula Bar while still in this cell, and hit F9. Copy what you see there and paste it in the follow up.
