Formula for Excel

I need help getting the formula to calculate overtime hours by time and 1/2. If anyone could help me I would surely appreciate it.

Are you calculating just the overtime or overtime
plus regular hours? Tell us more about your
worksheet construction.

Assumes hours are in A2, rate is in B2, and
overtime is hours over 40

Formula
Hours Rate Total
50 25 =IF(A2>40,40*B2+(A2-40)*(B2*1.5),A2*B2)

Result
Hours Rate Total
50 25 1375

Or, simply...

=SUM(MAX(A2-40,0)*1.5,MIN(40,A2))*B2
