excel calender

how is it possible to change the excel calender format
to read weeks numerically?
eg. in some corperate environments the weeks are
numbered 1 to 52/53 jan 1 = week one
can the excel calender be changed to this type of system?

Try the WEEKNUM function
From Help:

Returns a number that indicates where the week falls numerically within a year.
If this function is not available, run the Setup program to install the Analysis ToolPak. After you install the Analysis ToolPak, you must enable it by using the Add-Ins command on the Tools menu.
