Counting Negative values in a column of data

Im working a column consisting of both normal and negative values. I want to count only the negative values in the column and report the result in a cell below the column of data, how do I go about it?

Use the COUNTIF function. For your data in B5:B30 enter folowing in, say, cell B35
=COUNTIF(B5:B30,"<0")
