In Microsoft Excel! how can I convert a period of time such as 00:45:45 h:m:s to decimal 45.75 mins.? To allow this number to be used in other calculations

Multiply your cell with the time by 24. For example, if A1 = 00:45:45 then =A1*24 will convert that number to 45.75.

Hiya.

Time values are actually decimals already (in terms of a fraction of a day). So 45 minutes and 45 seconds is actually .031771 or so (just format your current 00:45:45 value as a number to check). If you mulitply that value by 60*24 that should convert the value of 00:45:45 (time format) to 45.75 (in a number format).

Hope that helps
