concatinating 2 cells for export to fast file definition

I need to know if excel is capable of and what expression to use to concatinate column A with column B? For example, column A has a value of S and column B has a value of 12345678, I need to export this to a fast file on a unix machine that prefixes column B with column A. So the fast file has as one field value, S12345678. Thank you. Please email any answer to jbulger@hotmail.com.

=CONCATENATE(A1,B1) (nt)
