Calendar object cell link

Hi, need a bit of help with a calendar object in an excel sheet. Is it possible to link the value selected in the object to a cell?
Another question: can the default calendar value be today()? this is all possible in HTML and Access, but I cannot find anything on this in Microsoft helpfiles.

To return the favour!

It is possible to put a hyperlink to a named cell
To name the cell
click on target cell
In top left hand corner is the name box
click on this enter the name press enter.
This will then act as a bookmark for the hyperlink.

try entering =TODAY() in your cell to get today's date.
