auto date update need help!!!!! any excel guru takers??

i have a spread sheet which prints out status report every day, i just need to know how the current date can be updated automatically when i open the spread sheet..I have to manually press cntrl key and semi-colon. Sometime i forget thus leading a wrong date being placed in the cell..please assist..roger

Why not just use the formula =TODAY()

Try using the formula = TODAY()

Put this in the cell where you normally key Cntr ;
It should put in th current date and update everytime you open the workbook

as an addendum, you can also use =now(). that will also give you the time of day.

whoever said that users of this message board won't give you time of day?
