absolute cell references

How can you change a block of cells from relative to absolute cell references. The F4 toggle seems to work only one cell at a time.

I'm probably being naive here - but have you tried naming the series of cells as opposed to trying to use relative cell addressing ?
Or am I up the wrong tree altogether ?
