summing time formats in Excel

I have a spreadsheet in Excel that contains a column for time. I can individually add up the cells to get the correct time spent but =sum will not work, it returns a 0:00:00.

Any suggestions would greatly help!

Try the format:

[h]:mm

I tried the new format and still no luck. If you put some values into a spreadsheet with a time format, try to sum them and you get 0:00:00.

Jonathan,

These formatting things are tricky. You should custom format your cells with time values, including the cell where you sum them.
