What do you mean you don't get the correct sum? Perhaps it is how the cell is formatted. Try custom formatting the cell to:
[h]:mm
This will force the cell to display time as hours and minutes only.
Does this help?

A thought for you to consider.
1)Do you really want to sum the times in the column, or the differences between them (ie check in at 8:00 am, out at 12:00pm = 4 hours, but summed = 8:00 PM (12hours from the 8:00 AM)
Well, I have the in and out times and the difference. Now for each doctor I want to be able to sum how much time they have spent in the OR rooms. Hence, the sum of the difference of the in and out time... But when I sum the difference it doesn't give me the correct time. I am just confused. Why...

The problem I'm having is the sum is great then 24 hours of course so I need to figure out what to use to get it to show me how many total hours... I guess maybe that is a better way of putting it... Thanks a bunch Barrie. I should have read more. I was just so absent minded yesterday. You are great! I knew it had to be an easy one! I owe you...
