read-only cells

Is it possible to lock only specific cells into a read-only format? This would be ideal for instances where you were making a multi-user form where there would be some constants and auto-add formulas. I have searched and am unable to find if this is possible.

Paul, by default Excels cells are locked, but has no effect unless you protect the sheet.
Select the cells you want users to have access to and go to Format>Cells|Protection and uncheck the Locked box. Now protect your sheet.
