I thinks it's just a matter of going into tools - options and unchecking the formulas box there........
I have found that entering a formula into a cell that had once contained a text item will sometimes display the formula, not the result, no matter what I do. Formats, check boxes, whatever, nothing will change the display to the result.
Copying the formula to another cell brings the problem to that new cell.
What I have had to do is retype the formula in a "new" cell and then move that cell into the location of the problem.
It's one of those little things that someday I'd like to understand what is going on, but retyping gets me around the problem so I just do that and move on.
I'm betting that these cells are formatted as "Text"...
...reformat them as "General", click on the
formula bar, and press [ Enter ].
The formulas option would apply to the entire worksheet... not just a few cells (nt)
