when you put the date in you have to put the day-month-year in or month-day-year (depends which side of the globe)
you have to specify the YEAR, your currently just specifying the month and day therefore it defaults to 2001.
I'll bet if you format dd/mm/yy it will have your 02 as the month or day (as I said depends where your from or more exactly how excel is set up).
if it doesn't matter which day it is for your purposes just put 01 in the missing place.

I don't want the day to appear in the field - only the month and the year. It looks like I don't have that option except to type it as a label with "08/02 to receive 08/02. Am I understanding correctly?
