How do I hide zeros

If I create a simple formula in cell A1 (e.g =A2+A3), then Excel display the value "0" in cell A1, when the cells A2 and A3 are empty. How do I get rid of the "0"?
I know I can format cell A1 with "?", which hides the "0". But the format I really want is as follows: # ##?,??
When I use this format, everything except the"," disapears from the cell.
What shall I do to hide everything in the cell until I want to display a value?

Use:

#,##0;-#,##0;

See the help topic for "Custom number, date, and
tme format codes".

Thanks Mark!
My swedish manual was wrong, and states "," where you have used ";"
Everything works fine now.
