Find and replace date

I have a column of dates (2/6/02) that I want to "find and replace with 2/13/02. I highlight the column (only 15 rows of a much longer column), go to edit, select find and put in whats already in that column (2/6/02) and what I want the old date replaced with (2/14/02). It gives a message saying no cells contain data. I'm looking at the data, its highlighted but cannot find it. What's going on with that?????????
