Excel Error Message regarding margins and page size.

When I receive an emailed Excel file and open it, I go to print it or just print preview it and an error message pops up.
This message states the following: "Margins do not fit page size". This is so frustrating because if I try to print it, it attempts to print over 1000 pages of blank information. Essentially it treats each cell as a single page document. I have tried to adjust the margins and even the page size all to no avail.
Sometimes it clears itself, but most of the time it does not.
Do you have any idea why it would be doing this? What is the cure for this ailment?

it sounds like something serious, but no harm in trying the simple things first - have you tried resetting the print area? ie. file menu|print area|set print area. i guess trial and error will tell you whether you'll still need to reset the margins also.
