Is it possible to hide a row using a formula (vs. macro)?

I would like to be able to hide a row conditionally, depending on the value in a particular cell. For example, if A1=0, hide row A, else leave it displayed. I've searched for a HIDE function but don't find anything on it. My goal is to minimize the amount of information the user has to view. Sorting or filtering isn't an option because the sheets will be protected, and as far as I know, in XL2000, protecting the sheets disables the user from sorting or filtering. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Connie

I'm afraid it is not possible to do this with a formula, you would have to use VBA code placed in the Worksheet module.
