How did you learn how to create formula's?

I see all these forumla's with bracket's, paretsis, comma's exclamation points. How do you know where and how to use that stuff?

One way to learn something about these is to click on the PasteFormula button (it looks like an f#) on the toolbar, and browse through the formulas in the dialog box that comes up. It also gives some information about each one. If you choose one, a further dialog box opens that walks you through using that particular formula.
Once you know the name of a formula you're interested in - perhps by following the recipe above - then you can search the OnLine Help for more information, examples, etc. about each formula.
Beyond that, if you're into it, there's a good book on formulas, called Excel2000 Formulas by John Walkenbach.
